The violin is a versatile instrument with a huge range of repertoire, from classical masterpieces to contemporary and popular music. The viola has a distinctive, warm sound and plays an essential role in chamber music, orchestras, and ensembles. Students who enjoy a deeper, richer tone may be especially drawn to the viola. For students who are curious about both instruments, our teachers can help families determine which instrument is the right fit. Ready to Pick Up the Bow?
