Heidi feels fortunate to have taught so many young children since 2008 and she is proud to see them mature as versatile musicians. She also has experience teaching senior beginners who have inspired her to be a more creative teacher. Apart from teaching, Heidi loves to perform on the piano and collaborate with other musicians. She strongly believes it is vital to provide an example to her students as a teacher, as well as an active performer. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in Zankel Hall in March 2018 and in Weill Hall in June 2018. She also appeared at Cleveland’s Severance Hall and the Boston classical music radio station WCRB at Boston’s Symphony Hall.
Heidi wants to help each student find his or her musical voice using the piano. One of the advantages of becoming a pianist is to be able to express something unique and deeply personal. One of Heidi’s goals as a teacher is to help each student discover and develop that uniqueness by teaching different technique exercises.
Apart from practicing and performing on the piano, Heidi loves going to high-intensity interval training classes where she develops her muscle strength and uses it on the piano!
Before her Doctoral degree in Boston, Heidi received her Master degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Bachelor degree in Piano Performance at Central Michigan University.
