Institutions Elana has taught at include Park Slope Music School (formerly Treblemakers), Bravissimo Music, German International School of Boston, and School of Rock franchises in New York City, Boston, and Tenafly NJ. Elana has a lengthy performance list, playing in venues and festivals such as B.B. King's Blues Club, Bowery Ballroom, Gathering of the Vibes Festival, Bamboozle Festival, and more.
Elana graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in 2016. At Berklee, Elana fell into the vast field of jazz, falling in love with the harmonies, variety of chord progressions, and rhythms. In her early years of voice study, Elana cultivated a repertoire of jazz standards, and learned solos in exploration of how to treat the voice like a horn. As her studies continued, she turned to the world of 20th and 21st century art music, and found ways to implement extended technique and sound exploration into her improvisation and compositions.
Elana's mentors include masters such as Marti Epstein, Jan Shapiro, Lisa Thorson, Allison Wedding, and Kenny Werner, all of whom led Elana to her refreshing and candid approach. Elana's recent compositions focus on bridging the world between story telling, jazz, and the avant garde.

“Elana has brought new enthusiasm, structure, and fun to our twelve-year-old son’s musical life. She is super organized but also fun and creative. By creating an agenda for each class, she allows students to have some choice, which is a great motivator. She manages a nice balance of classical and contemporary pieces and creates personalized arrangements to best serve our kid’s needs. Our son says that ‘she is fun and upbeat - a great teacher.’ We are so happy to have found Elana! ”
