Elaina Matthews

Elaina brings her deep love for music and her compassion for others together in her teaching to make music an experience of joy, growth, and peace. A Manhattan-based soprano with a master's degree in vocal performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she ran her own voice and piano studio in Nebraska for seven years and also worked as an elementary music teacher in the Bronx.​

Elaina's passion is opera and she has been seen in the chorus of Dialogues of the Carmelites with Bronx Opera (2023), as Theresa in the world premiere of The Gambler's Son with UNL Opera (2019), as Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte with New York Lyric Opera Theater (2019), as Laurie in The Tenderland with UNL Opera (2019), and as Minerva in The Return of Ulysses with UNL Opera (2018).
